CHAVIVA CONNECTIONS

Teaching with Purpose: Inspiration for the Year Ahead

The week before we welcomed our students back, our staff had the opportunity to reconnect with one another, welcome new team members, and set our goals for the year ahead. Over the course of two days of orientation, teachers reflected on the mission and vision of Chaviva High School and revisited their unique “Why” as educators.

Throughout the program, staff engaged in meaningful conversations about Chaviva’s distinctive approach to chinuch and education. Creativity and collaboration were at the forefront, reminding us that relationships are at the heart of meaningful learning. Together, teachers explored how strong connections, combined with clear expectations and high standards, empower our students to reach their fullest potential.

To inspire the year ahead, the award-winning magician Rick Smith Jr. wowed the staff with a performance that reminded us to think beyond limits and strive to make the “impossible possible,” bezras Hashem. We also had the privilege of hearing from Dana Keil, Communal Director of Teaching and Learning at the JEC, who shared an uplifting message of appreciation and support for our dedicated teachers.

At Chaviva, professional development is more than training—it is an opportunity to strengthen our culture of respect, collaboration, and shared purpose. These days set the tone for the months ahead, offering both a road map for success and a renewed sense of excitement as we embark on another year together.
