The energy at Chaviva was high this week as students got ready for Pesach—both with brooms and with brains. Alongside Pesach cleaning, the week was packed with thoughtful learning, culminating in our much-anticipated annual Pesach Yom Iyun. Organized by Mrs. Devorah Kraut and led by student heads Hadassah Elkan and Kayla Goldish, the day offered a chance to slow down and focus on what matters as Pesach approaches. We kicked things off with a very chometzdike (and very delicious) waffle bar—a final nod to chametz before turning our attention to the meaning behind the Seder.
The learning centered on three core parts of the night: Pesach, Matzah, and Maror, with powerful talks by Mrs. Kraut, Mrs. Naama Rosenbaum, and Mrs. Elana Tenenbaum. Each speaker brought a fresh perspective and practical takeaway that made the themes of the Seder feel personal and relevant.
After the sessions, students had the chance to process and reflect by creating inspiration boards based on the day’s ideas—putting their own voice to what they want to carry into Yom Tov. The day ended on a high note with a warm, spirited kumsitz led by Mrs. Rochie Koval, leaving everyone with the kind of energy and connection that doesn’t fade when the day ends. At Chaviva, preparing for Pesach isn’t just about getting ready—it’s about getting inspired.
