Chanukah at Chaviva

Our Chanukah Chagiga, thoughtfully prepared by our devoted Nishmas heads, was a beautiful blend of creativity, inspiration, and reflection. The program began with hands-on candle decorating, followed by meaningful words of chizuk from Rabbi Charlop, preparing their minds and hearts for the Yom Tov.

Students then enjoyed a beautifully prepared banquet, featuring latkes, soup, and Greek salad. The celebration continued with creative and competitive donut designing, sparking fun, laughter, and collaboration among the girls. The program concluded with a powerful immersive reflection introduced by Mrs. Wolman, inviting students to think deeply about how Hashem’s light has shone during challenging times in their lives. Mrs. Nathan closed the Chagiga by leading a meaningful kumzitz, bringing the celebration to a reflective and joyful conclusion.

While Nishmas hosted our chagigah at school, our Lev leadership extended that sense of light beyond Chaviva’s walls with a visit to the King David Senior Assisted Living Home. There, students spread joy by sharing handwritten cards, singing Chanukah songs, and playing bingo with the residents. The girls returned to school uplifted by the experience, reflecting on the importance of sharing light with others and hoping for more opportunities to visit in the future.
