We were delighted to welcome parents to our annual Parent Orientation, a meaningful evening that set the tone for Chaviva’s 8th year. Mrs. Berkowitz introduced this year’s theme, Metamorphosis, as it relates to our mission of helping students transform themselves and move beyond their own preconceived limitations. Each quarter of the school year will highlight a different stage of growth: the Cocoon of Connection, Emerging Confidence, Productive Struggle, and finally Transformation & Flight.
Parents engaged in thoughtful discussions around questions such as: “Why is a feeling of security critical in chinuch?” and “What makes struggle productive versus destructive?” These collaborative conversations reminded us that true growth happens best in an environment that balances safety and connection with support and challenge.

The evening also featured powerful insights on education from Rabbi Menachem Tenenbaum, Chaviva’s new Director of Chinuch Initiatives. Parents then enjoyed a teacher expo, a valuable opportunity to meet faculty members and learn more about the classes their daughters will experience this year. This showcase highlighted the passion and dedication that animate our classrooms each day.

To close the program, our new Dean of Academics, Mrs. Alex Fleksher, shared her vision for supporting academic rigor and student growth, followed by an inspiring message from Chaviva’s Board Chair, Mrs. Dassi Shtern, who emphasized the school’s strong culture of parent partnership. A special thank you was also shared by 10th-grade parent Mr. Shaul Yecheskel, who offered heartfelt reflections on his daughter’s Chaviva experience and encouraged continued parent involvement through Chaviva’s three annual fundraising opportunities: the 5K, the scholarship campaign, and SGO donations.
We are deeply grateful for our engaged and supportive parent body and extend our thanks to all who participated in this uplifting evening. Together, we look forward to a year of connection, collaboration, and growth.
