Chaviva’s annual 5K is far more than a race. It is a celebration of strength, leadership, achdus, and purpose. Each year, this beloved cornerstone of our school brings together training, fundraising, and heartfelt chessed, empowering our students to push beyond their limits while giving to others in meaningful ways.

Training for the 5K began on the very first day of school under the guidance of Mrs. Hlavaty and Mrs. Marocco. From that moment on, the girls committed themselves to early-morning runs, personal goals, and moments of resilience, learning firsthand that they are capable of doing hard things. Step by step, they discovered inner strength, discipline, and the power of cheering one another on.

That growth was on full display at the race. As each student crossed the finish line at Chaviva’s 8th annual 5K, the pride was immeasurable. Their determination, grit, and unity transformed the event into something truly extraordinary.

A heartfelt thank-you to the parents, sponsors, and volunteers whose encouragement and generosity bring this event to life each year. Your partnership ensures that our students experience what it means to strive, to give, and to run with purpose.

The Chaviva 5K continues to set the tone for the year, reminding every student that with dedication and heart, the seemingly impossible becomes achievable.

The student-led fundraising campaign that runs alongside the physical training and achievements outlined goals and a purpose for our students. In the years following October 7th, our students chose to dedicate a portion of the funds they raised to support our brothers and sisters in Israel. After researching a variety of tzedakah options, the Chessed Heads led a schoolwide vote, and the students selected B’Lev Echad, an organization that helps rehabilitate wounded IDF soldiers, as this year’s recipient. Their choice reflects a deep sense of connection, compassion, and achrayus. Together, our students raised $55,000 in support of Chaviva and wounded soldiers in Israel, a remarkable achievement and a beautiful Kiddush Hashem. Our Chessed heads motivated the school throughout with fun incentives, including treats like fresh doughnuts for meeting early milestones, which added an extra spark of energy and enthusiasm as the students began their fundraising. The 5K provides an unparalleled leadership laboratory for our students: they take initiative, plan creatively, and inspire their peers with passion and responsibility.
