CHAVIVA CONNECTIONS

A Year Reflected

As the school year came to a close, we celebrated the remarkable achievements and growth of our students and staff. Our 2025 Student Exhibition was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the dedication, talent, and character that define our community.

Student Exhibition

Our 2025 Student Exhibition was, as always, a highlight of the year. Each student spoke eloquently about the milestones and moments that defined her year, showcasing how much she’s achieved. As part of their presentations, students were tasked with creating a word art that captured the essence of their personal growth and experiences throughout the year. Parents and teachers were treated to a display of student work from across the curriculum, offering a meaningful glimpse into the learning, creativity, and development that took place.

The following students received the Academic Excellence Award for achieving a GPA of 3.5 or higher:

Tzipporah Chafetz, Elisheva Friedlander, Aviva Geller, Kayla Goldish, Basya Greenberger, Malky Gutman, Sofya Itin, Aviva Klein, Nomi Koval, Rivkah Leibowitz, Orian Lisogorski, Shayna Makalsky, Yael Yecheskel, Meira Schwartz.

The Purposeful Presence Award, given to students whose consistent attendance and meaningful participation shaped our school culture, went to:

Rivkah Esther Corbett, Adina Dunoff, Elisheva Friedlander, Aliza Goldzweig, Sofya Itin, Rivkah Leibowitz, Orian Lisogorski, Etta Shifrin, Navah Shtern, Aliza Shyken, Meira Schwartz.

The Rivka Imeinu Heartfelt Service Award was awarded to 9th graders Aliza Shyken and Aviva Geller for their selfless support of school activities and events.

The Chaya Mintz Student Achievement Award, selected by staff and reflecting academic excellence, attendance, and middos, was given to 11th grader Elisheva Friedlander.

As Mrs. Berkowitz shared: “She has exemplified the middos and character of a true role model and representative of Chaviva High School. She has worked hard in her classes, been respectful of her teachers and peers, and has grown in her avodas Hashem. May she continue to bring nachas to her school, her family, and Hakadosh Baruch Hu.”

Special thanks to Arova for the delicious meal, and deep gratitude to our Parent Engagement Team—Smadar Chafetz, Holly Corbett, Ranya Greenberger, and Marni Makalsky—for making this event and so many others possible.

Staff Wrap-Up

Following the inspiring Student Exhibition, the school year concluded with a staff wrap-up day that beautifully echoed the same spirit of reflection and growth. Grounded in the theme of “Year Seven,” the program explored the significance of the number seven in Torah and education, emphasizing our responsibility to bring potential into action.

Guided by the teachings of Chovos HaTalmidim, the faculty reflected on the year through a “Staff Exhibition,” where each teacher shared insights, highlights, and goals aligned with our quarterly framework: Know Your Students, Support Your Students, Stretch Your Students, and Celebrate Your Students. As part of their presentations, teachers also created word art that captured the essence of their year in chinuch, highlighting the values, growth, and meaningful moments that shaped their work.

These presentations were thoughtful, personal, and a powerful reminder of the care and intention that define chinuch at Chaviva. Just as our students reflected on their accomplishments and growth, our staff modeled that same reflective practice, showing how a culture of learning and self-awareness extends to every member of our school community.

As we look back on this year’s successes, we are inspired by the growth, commitment, and spirit of our entire community. We are excited to carry this momentum forward and continue fostering a vibrant, nurturing environment for all our students and staff.
