At Chaviva, our seniors are actively preparing for the next chapter of their journey, engaging in thoughtful reflection, exploration, and planning for life after high school. Through Mr. Hopkins’ College Prep class and a series of special presentations, our 12th graders are gaining the tools, insights, and inspiration they need to make informed decisions about their futures.
Planning for the Future
In College Prep, students began by envisioning where they want to be in ten years, creating drawings and explanations of their goals and the steps necessary to achieve them. These exercises provided a foundation for learning about the college application process, including applications, scholarships, loans, and mock interviews. Seniors are also exploring a variety of colleges, both locally and abroad, helping them understand the options available to them as they plan their next steps.

Seminary and College Visits
Our annual seminary and college presentations have been a highlight for the seniors. Rabbi Green of Sharfman’s shared the unique learning environment and spiritual growth opportunities offered during seminary in Israel, inspiring students to think about personal development alongside academic study. Rabbi Simon of Pninim Seminary encouraged the girls to step beyond their comfort zones, while Rabbi Kurland of Darchei Bina HaChadash highlighted the warmth, structure, and character of his seminary’s programs. Mrs. Trenk of Tomer Devorah also provided seniors with meaningful insights about the choices they are making at this stage, sharing her school’s hashkafa, approach to chinuch, and atmosphere.
Seniors also connected with higher education representatives from around the world. Wendy Keter traveled from Israel to introduce Reichman University in Herzliya, sharing programs in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Communication, and Psychology. Students engaged in thoughtful discussions about potential majors and careers, impressing Mrs. Keter with their maturity, confidence, and curiosity.

Locally, representatives from Cleveland State University and Ursuline College shared detailed information about their programs, scholarship opportunities, and campus life. CSU offered flexible, accessible programs with opportunities to live at home and commute, while Ursuline highlighted their renowned Nursing, Art Therapy, Business, and Pre-Law programs, along with generous scholarships for Ohio students.
Reflecting and Preparing
Throughout these presentations, our seniors have asked thoughtful questions, reflected on their goals, and considered which learning environments will best support their continued growth. From seminaries in Israel to colleges in Cleveland and beyond, these experiences are helping students chart a path that balances spiritual, personal, and academic development.
We are proud of our seniors as they explore the many possibilities before them, demonstrating focus, maturity, and excitement for the next steps of their journey.
