Partnering in Education
Parents gathered for Chaviva’s annual Parent Orientation, an evening designed to give families a closer look at our approach to education and the year ahead.
Mrs. Berkowitz opened the evening with reflections on Chaviva’s ninth year and this year’s theme, Naaseh Adam: Creation of Self. Mrs. Fleksher introduced her role as Dean of Academics and led parents and teachers in discussions about how understanding the teenage brain can inform both parenting and education.
Before the Teacher Expo, 9th-grade parents met with Mrs. Berkowitz to learn more about Chaviva’s programs and policies. Parents then visited classrooms to meet their daughters’ teachers and learn about the curriculum and what students will be learning throughout the year.
The evening concluded with inspiring words from Rabbi Tenenbaum about the unique influence parents have on their children, followed by a message from Mrs. Dassi Shtern, Chaviva’s Board Chair, about the importance of the partnership between parents and school.
We are grateful to our Chaviva parents for the many ways they partner with us in supporting their daughters’ growth and education. We wish all of our Chaviva families a successful school year and a Gmar Chasima Tova!
