After a semester of planning and revisions, Mrs. Hlavaty’s 10th-grade Leadership class had the unique opportunity to present their proposals in our Shark Tank-style Student Fundraiser Challenge. In preparation for their big presentations, students were mentored by members of Chaviva’s Board of Directors, who generously shared their time and expertise.

Thank you to Mrs. Dassi Shtern, Mr. Ezzie Goldish, Mr. and Mrs. Yossi and Channa Ireland for offering valuable insight into marketing, budgeting, and how to navigate challenges. Their real-world guidance helped shape the students’ final pitches and gave them a meaningful glimpse into what leadership looks like beyond the classroom.

The following week, students presented their business ideas to a panel of judges: Ms. Downing, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Taylor. Their creative and thoughtful fundraiser concepts included:

  • Delushy Slushy – a student-run slushy stand on campus

  • Juber – a volunteer-based rideshare service for the Jewish community

  • Quick Coffee – a post-Shacharis coffee station for a morning boost

  • The Scrumptious Stand – a lunch option featuring cozy favorites like mac and cheese

Each team impressed the judges with their vision, teamwork, and professionalism. Congratulations to Avigayil Taub, Avigail Olgin, and Nechama Sauber, whose Delushy Slushy project was selected as the winner!

We are so proud of how these students rose to the challenge, incorporating feedback, thinking creatively, and presenting with confidence. This project was more than just a class assignment—it was a powerful step in building the next generation of leaders.
