Chaviva recently had the profound zechus of hearing from individuals whose courage, faith, and devotion to Klal Yisrael left a deep impact on our students and community.
Living al Kiddush Hashem
Our students had the privilege of welcoming Howie and Marci Oster, who shared the powerful story of their son, Amichai Hy”d. Amichai fell in battle while fighting in Gaza, and the Osters’ words offered a glimpse into the life of a young man defined by unwavering commitment to Torah, halacha, humility, and kindness. The girls asked brave and thoughtful questions about maintaining emunah in the face of pain and loss, and the Osters’ responses were heartfelt and deeply meaningful. Later that morning, when our school took challah, we did so with Amichai in mind as an aliyah for his neshama.
Together for Them
Chaviva also had the honor of hosting two soldiers who fought courageously in Gaza and were both injured in battle. Yossi and Chaim shared firsthand accounts of their experiences on the front lines; stories of bravery, sacrifice, and an unshakable sense of mission. They answered our students’ personal questions with honesty and strength, leaving our community with a powerful message of emunah in Hashem and commitment to Klal Yisrael. Students wrote notes of Hakaras Hatov and took their names for Tehillim.
We continue to daven for יוסף יצחק בן צופי׳ה and חיים בן טובה a complete refuah, רפואת הנפש ורפואת הגוף, body and soul.
