At Chaviva High School, we are continuously amazed by the creativity, dedication, and passion our students demonstrate in the classroom. Here’s a glimpse into some of the outstanding learning that has been taking place at Chaviva this month:
In 12th-grade Chumash, students learned a Hebrew song that beautifully captured the essence of mesorah—the transmission of Torah through generations. The song told the story of how each generation passes down its knowledge, from father to son, and from one Torah scholar to another. Chana Bloom’s guitar accompaniment added a special touch to this meaningful lesson.
9th-grade STEM students have been hard at work on their capstone projects, which involve ordering components and sketching prototypes. This hands-on approach encourages critical thinking and problem-solving as students bring their ideas to life.
In 12th-grade Personal Finance, students explored the important concepts of wants vs. needs and the risks and rewards of credit cards. Through interactive activities, they learned how to manage their finances and make informed spending decisions—a vital skill that will serve them well in the future.
10th-grade Biology students studied the groundbreaking discovery of DNA, analyzing the experiments that led to its discovery and exploring how scientists uncovered this essential piece of our biology.
Chaviva High School’s classrooms extend far beyond their four walls, embracing hands-on, immersive learning experiences that challenge students to think critically and engage deeply. Our recent IPBL kickoff, Sensing the Truth, exemplified this approach, transforming the school hall into a sensory museum where students explored perception through taste, sight, sound, smell, and touch. As they move forward with this year’s theme, they will continue to question, analyze, and discover how their senses shape their understanding of truth—an inquiry that mirrors the dynamic, thought-provoking learning that defines a Chaviva education.
We are so proud of the commitment our students show to their academic growth, and we look forward to all the continued excellence in the months ahead!
